The Burger Syndrome!

There is no doubt that we are much impressed by the life of “Gora”, after all they have ruled us for quite some time. With the advent of web2.0 the cultural diffusion is taking place at a pace higher than ever before. The burger syndrome is a disease which is rampantly spreading in millennials, those suffering from the syndrome have adopted a specific mindset after watching seasons, Hollywood movies and other content.
The patients will try to copy everything they can without actually calculating the repercussions. For example, after watching movies like “Hangover” they will get an idea that drugs are cool and the result is that reports after reports are being published that our youth at universities and colleges are falling for the menace. The obsession is so great that they think if “Gora” does it then it must be good. If an artist is wearing pants low down why should not we?
The problem is that these naïve beings do not see the other side of the spectrum that there is also an aristocratic class in west who possess refined etiquettes and are well cultured but very less do they show such characters on the screen so our Millennials guided by the tunnel vision try to follow the KOOL lifestyle of thug on the street!
We need to understand that every region has its distinct culture which should be preserved and owning your culture should not make you any less civilized, and to understand that we will have to come out of our inferiority complex.

where are we heading as a society!?

where are we heading as a society!?

For the last past week, social media has been abuzz with many senseless stories “From stole my husband from my best friend and cheated on my fiancée, to jab Me Too hota hai ussi waqt kiyon nahi boltein, to quotes from Uncle Ben and your friendly neighbourhood spider-man, last but not least, waaeeyy, Gadhay ka bacha, idhar wapis rakh, triggering a child to misbehave on-air” all we need is to be more responsible and sober!!!

"#Speak your heart” hosted by #SaminaPeerzada’s #youtubeshow in which #hiramani spoke about her love life and how they two got in a relationship when she already engaged to someone else. Dil ka kiya hai dil tou khoty pe bhi ajata hai. But opened up on screen in this way Like SERIOUSLY!!? Her Show #speakyourheart is all about asking the every details about celebrities’ lives and using their tears to get limelight. Is this the thing we want to listen or we want to learn from these people. This is something very inappropriate being projected and fed to our society on everyday basis. Our media needs better speakers and intelligent hearers. When you have these kind of content, hosts and celebrities #metoo tou hoga..
Interview of a model with bushy eyebrows #sadaf kanwal at show #TonitewithHSY hosted by #HassanShehryarYassin has made everyone up in the arm on sexual harassment, thanks to her blunt comments on  #metoo movement. #sadafkanwal Cheer up baby!! You did not say anything disrespectful. Like all other tv shows this show is all about controversies and each episodes contains something controversial just to keep people busy on social media.
Oh wow! #Mominamustehsan firstly you had ruined the famous classical song ‘ko ko korina’ and on top of that hurt the feeling of many by dragging the #spiderman’s #uncleben into your bhadda (debate). As‘ko ko korina’ received immense hate and trolling on social media and even angry minister and senator expressed their disappointment for the song on social media. That’s not fair! I expect you to apologize. This year's #cokestudio is a huge disappointment so far.
Dear #NidaYasir! You’re a grown up and mother of three (just telling in case you forgot). Just for the sake of fun, triggered  a child to act angry was a very shameful act. Not only once you did this stupid act but multiple times and made fun of him and his accent. Ma'am! We really appreciate your efforts (pathetic efforts actually) that you had put in this show just for the sake of our  entertainment . But this time your really need to learn that media is a very powerful tool to educate people. Stop fighting for rating supremacy only and be a little responsible.

Not so Fast!

Not so fast!!

Once again the Government is caught between the devil and the deep sea. The IMF loan on which the government locked its eyes has not been finalized because US the major stake holder with 16.52 shares says that it is considering if the loan would be granted or not. Moreover, it is the only country with veto power to cancel the deal.

The primary concern of US is the Chinese investment in CPEC. According to the IMF chief economist Maurice Obstfeld, Pakistan is being lead into a debt-trap by China, which is almost impossible to repay and that would affect the repayment of loans that IMF lends to Pakistan.
In response our juggler Asad Umar has made a comment that US does not have the power to hold the IMF back, may be its time for introspection at Umar’s end. He has already eaten couple of humble pies and by the look of it he has liked it so much that he wants to make it a staple food.

#METOO

The latest blockbuster to hit the shelves of trend market is the #Metoo campaign. Although initiated from Hollywood for a concerning cause but by the time it has reached Sub-Continent it has taken a new twist. Unlike Hollywood where Bill Cosby has been convicted on substantial proof our Celebrities have come forward but without a proof. The Meesha-Zafar spat is a perfect example where Meesha Shafi’s claims failed to get the limelight which was expected and the people who were present at the that particular place at that particular time have also dismissed any such activity by Ali Zafar.
Our pseudo activists are of the opinion that in such cases as that mentioned above the proof in majority of the cases is not available. By doing so they are turning a blind eye to the fact that if proof is not asked for, the #Metoo movement can be misused because then anyone will stand up and point his or her finger at someone without being asked for a proof. Moreover, it can be used by sadistic natured to gain popularity. This double-edged sword in hand of nation which follows trends without actually knowing about their essence is like a matchstick in hand of a monkey! Ever ready to turn the jungle into ashes.

Don't Lose Hope!

So after running from pillar to post and claiming that rather than opting for loans Khan would commit suicide, the reality has struck and it has unfortunately stuck hard. The man believed to be the expert at collecting alms has failed this time. The begging bowl that he shattered himself is now being put together with a concoction of elfy and burnol. Parveen Shakirs couplet augments well with the situation on behalf of IMF.
وہ کہیں بھی گیا لوٹا تو مرے پاس آیا

بس یہی بات ہے اچھی مرے ہرجائی کی

To much of our amazement those who used to sing the mantra of “say no to loans” in a chorus with Khan are no suddenly more realistic and are telling us that initiatives take time to bear fruit. When we said the same we were dismissed as ignorant fools not aware of his super powers. It seems politics is nothing more than a competition of telling lies the better you are at doing so the more successful you may become.  Amidst of all the economic turmoil lets not lose hope because according to Murad Saeed “200bn Dallars” were about to reach Pakistan……
